This Privacy Policy describes how LinearBytes, Inc. (“nevermind,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use the nevermind website and chat product (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

1. Who we are

nevermind is operated by LinearBytes, Inc., a Delaware corporation. For privacy questions, email support@nevermind.chat.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information. Your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the name and profile image returned by Google OAuth. If you sign up with a password, we store a salted hash of your password, never the password itself.
  • Chats and messages. The prompts you send and the model responses you receive, so you can resume conversations.
  • Attachments. Files and images you upload or generate during a chat.
  • Billing information. Subscription status, plan tier, and billing identifiers. Payment card details are handled directly by Stripe and are not stored on our servers.
  • Usage data. Daily message counts and similar metering needed to enforce plan limits.
  • Device and log data. IP address, browser type, device type, and error diagnostics captured for security and debugging.
  • Analytics data. Aggregated product-usage events (page views, feature clicks) captured through analytics providers.

3. How we use your information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • To enforce usage limits, prevent abuse, and protect security.
  • To respond to support requests and communicate service updates.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content of your chats to train AI models.

4. AI model providers (zero data retention)

When you chat with a model, your prompt is sent to a third-party AI provider that has signed a written zero-data-retention agreement with us, meaning the provider does not store your prompts or completions. If no zero-retention provider is available for a given model, the request fails rather than falling back to one that would retain your data. See our ZDR page for the current list of providers.

5. Other service providers we use

We share limited personal information with the following processors solely so they can perform services for us:

  • Vercel— hosting and image/attachment storage (US regions).
  • MongoDB— database for accounts, chats, and billing metadata.
  • Upstash— rate limiting.
  • Stripe— payment processing.
  • Google— OAuth sign-in (if you use Google to sign in).
  • Cloudflare— transactional email delivery.
  • Google Analytics, PostHog, and Sentry— product analytics and error tracking.

Each provider is bound by its own contractual data-protection terms.

6. Data retention

  • Chats and attachments are auto-deleted 24 hours after your last message by default. You can adjust this timer in settings.
  • Account data is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from settings, which removes your account, chats, and attachments.
  • Billing records are retained as required by tax and accounting law (typically up to 7 years).
  • Logs and analyticsare retained for a limited period (typically 30–90 days) and then deleted or de-identified.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have rights under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your information.
  • Receive a portable copy of your information.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent).
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

You can delete your account directly from settings. For any other request, email support@nevermind.chat. We will respond within the time required by applicable law (generally 30 days).

We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under the CCPA.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to secure the Service, and analytics cookies (via Google Analytics and PostHog) to understand how the product is used. You can disable non-essential cookies through your browser settings.

9. International data transfers

The Service is hosted in the United States. If you access nevermind from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US. Where required, we rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and equivalent mechanisms for UK and Swiss transfers.

10. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit, encryption at rest for attachments, hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact support@nevermind.chat and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with a revised “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide notice through the Service or by email.
